Nautilus Polysix EX sound engine

The Polysix EX engine is a software emulation of the Korg Polysix analog synthesizer, which is available on some Korg synthesizers such as the Korg Kronos and Korg Nautilus.

The original Korg Polysix synthesizer was first introduced in 1981, and it quickly became popular for its warm analog sound and its versatile sound shaping capabilities. The Polysix EX engine attempts to recreate the sound and functionality of the original Polysix synthesizer in a digital form.

The Polysix EX engine includes many of the same features as the original Polysix, such as six analog oscillators, a resonant low-pass filter, and a chorus effect. The engine also includes modern features like polyphonic capabilities, built-in effects processing, and MIDI control.

One of the unique features of the Polysix EX engine is its ability to recreate the distinctive "ensemble" effect of the original Polysix synthesizer. This effect was achieved by using a chorus circuit that added a subtle detuning and phasing effect to the sound, which gave the Polysix its distinctive warm and rich sound.

Overall, the Polysix EX engine is a powerful tool for creating a wide range of warm and rich analog-style sounds, from classic pads and strings to funky basses and leads. The engine is also popular for its ease of use and intuitive interface, which makes it accessible to both beginners and advanced users alike.
